Who are we
Dům tří přání (House of Three Wishes) is a Czech NGO, civic association that was founded in 2001. Its aim is to support socially endangered children and their families.
Who do we support
Support is available for families with children from 3 to 18 years. Every year approximately 150 socially endangered children and their families from Prague and surroundings get support here.
Team of Dům tří přání perceives the family as a whole system and therefore provides support not only to a child, but also to the family.
Families with following types of problems are supported:
- Children with CAN (child abuse and neglect) syndrome
- Families with social problems
- Respite care
- Children with behavioral disturbances
- Problems in family relationships; children endangered by parents´ conflicts
- Families where parents cannot manage upbringing of their children
- Children in urgent troubles - acute stay in the Shelter for 24 hours
What kind of support do we offer
Dům tří přání is an officially registered provider of three kinds of social services that all belong to the category of social prevention services
- Asylum (in-residence services)
- Help in crisis (in-residence and out-patient services)
- Social activation services (field-based services)
In-residence services are provided in Přemysl Pitter’s shelter for children in Prague (Shelter), which has been run by Dům tří přání since 2003. The Shelter offers stay to children requiring immediate help. Children stay there from 1 day within several months (usually up to 3 months).
